New/Used Heat press

When you print some images on a T-shirt with Dye sublimation process, you need the equipment I described in the previous post. And plus you need some support materials such as Teflon sheet, heat tape, paper towel or some used sheets of paper for to get great results.

The sublimation ink react only with polyester so you need a polyester t-shirts. So if your T-shirts are made from 100% cotton, you can’t apply this method. At least your T-shirts contain 50% of polyester fiber to get an average result. And the % of polyester is higher, you’ll get better quality printed image.

As the name indicates, the sublimation ink become vapor when heat is applied by the heat press and it transfer from printed paper to T-shirts surface. So if the pressure of heat press is not enough, the ink vapor can move wide area and this lead the blur print result on the T-shirts. So you have to apply tight enough pressure on the surface of T-shirts with the heat press. And also if you applied heat press for long time, you’ll also get blur image result.

And when you apply heat press on you T-shirts, you should insert a Teflon sheet or couple of used paper sheets inside the T-shirts to prevent the ink transfer to another side of T-shirts surface. And I also recommend placing sheets of paper on the T-shirts when you press them with heat press.

And the heat tape is just used for placing the printed paper on the surface of T-shirts.
