How to find graphic designer to help with a simple design for a t-shirt?

July 20th, 2009 · 7 Comments

cast4321 asked:

I'm looking for someone to do some simple graphic design for a t-shirt. I'm willing to pay a small amount.

I'm looking for someone to put together a simple design and then save it as a file type that will allow me to have it print and look good on a t-shirt. I plan to use cafe press or equivalent.

Any ideas where to look for such a person?

They are all around you. Make sure you get multiple file types of your final design so that you have access for printing in other methods at a later date. You’ll need clear artwork, such as a vector EPS file so you can adjust the scale without losing quality. You can also try locally to find someone or make a post of craigslist, however you seem to already have posted a mini job listing.

If you really DO mean only a small amount of money, I suggest you contact the art department at a local high school or college. There should be plenty of talented students who can use the work and really need the little money you can afford to pay.

Some of these students are capable of producing work as good as most professionals.

You can try posting it on DA

You’ll most likely get various responses if you give enough detail on what you want. Only thing is you got to make a DA account to post, but it’s free so it shouldn’t be that big of a problem.

If you’re hoping to find someone locally, so you can work directly with them, try a nearby college that offers a graphic design program. (A typical local resource, like an ad agency, are likely to be out of your price range.)

If you’re open to working with someone online, try posting the project on someplace like or, where you can find hopefully someone with the right skills that’s within your budget.
